We're back at Dollhouse after a long weekend! Did you have nice holidays? Welcome back everyone! Here are some New York-y type commuting scenes on the way to the showroom this morning.
Bryant Park! Always a peaceful cut-through from the 7 train to the Garment District.
Bryant Park Fountain.
Sixth Avenue. The most scaffolding I have ever seen.
Dollhouse loves to outfit you in every cut we do, whether it's our signature sexy skinny (ooh la low rise!), flattering-to-the-booty bootcut, retro flare, summery crop -- you name it. Flattering to your shape, and always in a fashion-forward style. Try our destructed styles in every cut. Click here to start shopping!
Did you think I was going to show you a picture of sticky goey ribs? Of course not. I found this amazing red-white-and-blue cake in the Blondie and Brownie archives, where we often turn to for food inspiration. Those gals eat it all. All! I don't know how they do it. Anyway, here is their spectacular holiday cake. Are you game to make it for this weekend? I kinda am. There's a how-to video on their blog and full directions. Or you can just riff on the photo and concoct your own.

Bill Cunningham! New York Times Style Section! See this movie. I'm planning to see it on Saturday night! It proves to be really great. I have seen him riding his bicycle around NYC countless times, and each time I see him, I am so pleased. It is so obvious from his demeanor that he loves what he does for a living.

While writing our Prom Time mini-series for the blog, I came across Michelle Phan, an amazingly talented video-based makeup artist. She should totally be a professional. I cannot take my eyes off this video. Watch it. It is totally mesmerizing. Wait 'til you see how she applies the foundation.
Follow Michelle on Twitter @RiceBunny And check out her YouTube channel here. OOh, and read this story! Michelle scores a sweet deal from Lancôme, scoring a 2-year contract to be their video makeup artist; the first contract of its kind for a YouTuber. Go Michelle!
Our Prom series continues with tips for applying eye color. Choose your skin tone, choose your video!
The first video above has great music and great tips. Don't pay attention to the strange Hello Kitty intro.
The next video features a Rihanna-inspired eye and lots of great techniques. Super cool. Plus she has a nice British accent.
The third video below has lots of great techniques for applying eye color wet, dry, in "a wash" (what I wear), you name it. She also has a nice British accent.
The fourth vid below starts with an eyeshadow base, Painterly, from MAC. Good tip for all. She has great tips for highlighting too.
Finally, Michelle Phan (I'm an instant fan -- Michelle has great techniques) shows us a fun Lady Gaga look. Yes, we had to include Lady Gaga.
